United Nations Association Appoints Nonprofit Leader Arbazz Nizami as Global Goals Ambassador on Poverty. Arbazz is an award-winning marketer, nonprofit founder, doctoral student , and podcast host. He’s led hundreds of efforts to fight poverty and is the Founding President of the Sahaba Initiative..

Global Goals Ambassadors come from all across the country, united in their commitment to advance the Sustainable Development Goals. Every fall, roughly 30 UNA-USA members are selected to participate in a year-long fellowship to develop programming and raise awareness for the Sustainable Development Goals.

In 2015, the member countries of the United Nations unanimously adopted a to-do list for the world to achieve by 2030. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), include 17 specific priorities and 231 targets designed to advance human dignity while protecting the planet. Achieving the goals by their 2030 due date will require action from companies, nonprofit organizations, individual citizens, and governments.

Launched in September 2020, the UNA-USA Global Goals Ambassador Program provides UNA-USA members with an opportunity to take their passion for a particular Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) and leverage it to develop related programming and communications at the national level to raise awareness and work to advance to advance the SDGs.
