Sahaba Initiative Welcomes Afghan Refugees to the Inland Empire
Sahaba Initiative is working towards resettling several Afghan refugees in the Inland Empire area. Afghan families are leaving their entire lives behind to lead a fresh start in which they will be part of a new community. Sahaba Initiative is in the process of securing housing for these families and children.
In the coming months, we will be working with them to help them adapt to a new system that includes everything from helping them attain a driver’s license to ensuring their children will start school in their own backyard.
We are calling our community to participate in empowering these families by providing food, clothing, shelter, household goods, and much more! Those interested can help in the following ways:
- Collect and gather hygiene products such as toothpaste, shampoo, and feminine products. Drop them off at our food pantry on Saturdays from 10 am to 12 pm
- Volunteer to become a tour guide, and mentor a family,
- Commit to providing key furniture, electronics, and household items,
- Contribute to our refugee fund which will allow us to support them over the next 12 months with rent, utility bills, and other expenses
